Bible study 43 – Genesis 43

When all the grain from the first journey is eaten up, Jacob finally agrees to send Benjamin with his other sons to Egypt to buy more (Simeon seems to be assumed dead). When they arrive, Joseph is delighted to see them, especially Benjamin, and he prepares a huge meal for them. Benjamin gets five times as much food and drink, probably to make his brothers jealous of him (this is part of Joseph’s silly game).
