Bible study 179 – Deuteronomy 27

This chapter interrupts Moses’ speech rather suddenly, and isn’t entirely coherent with the rest of the text or itself. The Israelites are told to write “all the words of this law” on stone (!) once they are in Canaan, and to build an altar of the stones there. Then the Levites are to shout out curses for twelve seemingly random crimes.

Deuteronomy 27:18
“Cursed be anyone who misleads a blind person on the road.” All the people shall say, “Amen!”
