Bible study 214 – Judges 4

The Israelites are now enslaved by a king in the city of Hazor (which has reappeared after being burned and annihilated by Joshua), and the female judge Deborah is sent to save them. She doesn’t actually do anything herself, apart from directing her male commander Barak where to battle. When the enemy army is defeated, the enemy commander Sisera seeks refuge with a relative of Moses’ father-in-law, who treacherously murders him in his sleep.

Judges 4:21
But Jael wife of Heber took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, until it went down into the ground — and he was lying fast asleep from weariness — and he died.
